At the beginning of class we each drew a movie from a hat. We were supposed to keep our movie a secret from our classmates, only revealing the answer at the the end of our presentation... in a few months. It was hard for me to keep my excitement to myself as I luckily chose a movie I was very comfortable with adapting. Our assignment was to design a three piece set - essentially a corner of a room - for a photo shoot that represented our Movie Theme.

For the fun of it, I won't tell you my movie but Im sure you could guess by the end of the presentation. Never have I ever dreamed of creating a shrimp hand lamp but now its on the bucket list! Enjoy my Movie Themed Project, just make sure you don't say the name three times!

FFE plan. Sometimes unless we know we can make the item drawn, we have to find similiar pieces to pull off the same look. This Christopher Guy chair almost perfectly pulls of the look I wanted, as well as the side table. The Jonathan Adler lamp is a great touch to pull this together, although the Shrimp Hand Lamp - when it exists - will be perfect!

I hope you enjoyed the Movie Theme. Im sure you've guessed my movie by now. There are only so many places you hear of shrimp hands, and Beetlejuice is probably the only one? Im hoping my Interior Design Career takes me into many, many, many.... more opportunities to interpret Tim Burton's style! I loved this project, and hope you find some joy in it also!
